There was a time when explaining too much was the norm.
I explained why I was tired.
Why I needed space.
Why I couldn’t take one more call, one more meeting, one more emotional responsibility.
I explained myself to colleagues. To family. To people I loved.
And it became too much.
Many of the women who come into my work arrive the same way.
She’s mastered her career and highly intelligent. She is an amazing woman and very spiritual.
Yet she is exhausted from carrying more than anyone recognizes.
Over-explaining seems necessary on the outside.
But inside, it’s us feeling safe at keeping everything clear.
What I learned — and what my clients are learning too — is when we stop over-explaining, we shouldn’t become distant.
You should become more present in knowing that saying less is about self-preservation and feeling good about that is vital to your joy and well-being.
As we bring this message to a close. If you find yourself over-explaining too.
Drop us a message and schedule a complimentary, Enrich HER Space 20 minute session. Please share this message with a friend or family member who over shares. We are very supportive and love to equip women with tools to enrich their lives.
